The Making of LPiU.com | Web Acclaims | Site Guide | Feedback

In August 1999 the organization elected to establish its first web presence on the world-wide web. The next six months of web designing will produce our very first website on January 22, 2000. This website in its initial stages began with four (4) general web pages and eventually grew to 8 pages by the end of the year. We looked forward to visitors recognizing our organization and expressing messages of good tidings within our guestbook.

In August 2001, the organization felt the need to further develop and re-design lpiu.com. We enlisted the web savvy assistance of WebTYs [www.webtys.com] to produce our second updated site which went live on March 25, 2002 with a total of 13 web pages.

The site received a mini-facelift with more symbolism then was previously present on January 5, 2006 [19 pages].

A final look into lpiu.com, we wanted a site that represents our intricate organization in all ways to be launched on May 3, 2007 [39 pages]. The site redesign was actualized by the very professional and highly skilled web designers from www.flashbooty.com. They were able to provide our organization with the color scheme, photography and Destiny: The Digital Diva that we requested and were happy to do so. Although the project was slated to be completed earlier, we are very happy with the end results.

Why .com?
We often receive many inquiries regarding the usage of .com as opposed to other domain names. In 1999 at the height of the Greek internet boom, many organizations whether Greek affiliated or non-Greek affiliated generated there websites as .com later changing .com to .org or .net. Each organization has various reasons as to why they choose a domain name. We felt that domain names immediately gave our organization a professional and "internet established" presence. We took into consideration the benefits of our organization altering the .com domain name, to another widely used. As Divas and an incorporated entity, our business is hermandad which we felt was appropriately identified with .com. Our organization has yet to feel the need to change .com and we hope so for years to come.
